Wanders Template was inspired by Krista Zeleski of Ottawa.
It comes in 2 densities, Open (12) and Dense (15)

It is continuous, except when starting and ending.
There are orphan sections that have to be picked up.

The Dense 15 is done in 2 passes.

Krista's comments:

”I finished my Wanderers quilt today.  The template is great! Simple to follow - just head straight through all the intersections until you reach a corner, turn and continue.  No worries ever about losing track of where you are.  Only thing to be careful of is to avoid a bounce at the corners, so I had to slow down a bit for the turns.

I love the texture of the finished quilt. Definitely the denser option is my favourite!  The brown & cream quilt in the photos is done with that one.  The quilt is about 55x75, blocks are 8" (front) or 9" (back), if you want the scale.  The circles are the back of that quilt - the quilting showed up more on that side, due to the pattern of the fabrics on the front, so I sent a few pictures from both sides.

The pink quilt (1 photo) is done with the looser template.  I find the quilting looks more abstract on this one - maybe partly due to the higher loft batting I used. when I stand back and look at it, I see the vertical and horizontal lines almost like they are just continuous straight (wavy) lines edge to edge. Hard to explain.  It is a nice result, but the denser one is what I was looking for.

I love the templates.  Thank you so much for doing them for me!

Wanders 15 Dense Pattern

Just finished quilting this with my new Wanders board from Circle Lord.  Love the texture it gives the quilt, and it stitched out SO quickly!  I'm looking forward to using this design on some modern quilts.

My quilt is 54” wide by 72” long.  It just took a couple of hours to complete.

I loved the subtle wave in the pattern.  I think that will help in quilts that are a bit wonky and make it easier than trying to keep everything straight across.  I really like this pattern.  It stitched out almost as quickly as the Egyptian Eye.  I’m sure it’s going to be a favorite “go to” pattern for me!!

I started at the top of the box marked “X” stitching to the left until I reached the left side of the next box.  Stitch to the bottom of box, right across the bottom of box until you reach the end; continue to follow line through intersections until you reach the next dead end (Stop sign).  Turn corner and stitch entire box shape and continue until you reach the next “stop sign”.  This method has you complete each large “box” shape once you encounter it.  By continuing through the intersections, the remaining lines are filled in with the “wandering” boxes and there is no backtrack!
After you have filled in the left side and found the continuous groove to the right, you will go all the way to the right and then fill in the orphan sections.
Where you actually start will depend on the width of the quilt.
